18 riders took to the line for the second round of the Bourne Wheelers 2016 Time Trial league. The indecisive weather continued and it was back to summer-like conditions with a warm clear evening punctuated by a brisk westerly wind.
In the Scratch competition, Tom Comben took the win with 23:11, 4 seconds off his course personal best and club course record. Darren Kelly was second with 24:30 and Graham Wright (Peterborough CC) completed the podium in third with 24:52, despite losing a pedal a few hundred yards before the finish line!
In the Handicap competition, Jamie Nation smashed his PB by over a minute and a half and was rewarded with first place (27:47). Mark Ward, in his first event of the year, came second (28:25) and Gareth Richards came third (27:14).
It was business as usual in the Vets on Standard competition with Mike Smalley (Witham) taking the win followed by Tom Comben in second and Tony Gilbert in third.
In the Juniors competition, Dylan Snoek took the win (28:04) followed by Georgia Bullard (29:24), who took the Donne win.
Other course PBs recorded were Steve Ellis and Ian Davison who smashed their course PBs by 45 and 41 seconds respectively.
No BW League TT next week due to round 1 of the Hereward League at Peterborough on Thursday 12th May.
