It’s that time of year again. TT helmets dusted-off, winter-training all done and eager to get out there for another season of pushing the pain barrier.
Wednesday 13th April saw the first Wheelers’ Time Trial of the 2016 season. 21 eager riders, including many new members, took to the start line of the Barholm 5mile TT course on a pan-flat “float” evening.
Antony Gough (VeloOne) was the man to beat, smashing his PB and bettering the Club Course Record by 1 second with 11:22. Hot on his tail was Matt Green, who also smashed his PB with 11:29, averaging over 26mph. Following-up in 3rd was Tom Comben with 11:40.
In the youths, Dylan Snoek, in his first ever TT, took the win (14:08) from Molly Peel, who also PB’d, with 15:24.
James Nation also PB’d with 13:44.
The next round will be at Barholm Wednesday 20th April before the Scratch and Handicap leagues get going the following week on the Greatford course.
