(Report by Mark Botteley)
A busy few weeks for the club has seen the successful hosting of a road race on behalf of the Northants Cycle Racing Association (NCRA) followed by the annual Bourne Ultimatum sportive, which attracted nearly 140 participants.
The clubs youth riders, affectionateley known as the Bullets have also had a great couple of weeks.
Bryn Richards has gone from strength to strength all year, and placed an excellent 5th at the Tickhill Grand Prix. Jess Woodworth who will be representing the East Midlands at the Inter Regional Championships in Nottinghamshire this weekend, had a perfect warm up, racing two races at Tickhill and finishing in the lead group just outside the top 10 in each.
However the star of the show for these last few weeks was 12 year old Molly Peel. The youngster won the National schoolgirls 12 year old 10 mile championship in Hertfordshire, recording a time of 30:01, a great time for such a young racer, well over a minute ahead of the second placed rider.
This weekend sees the start of the Lincs League Cyclo Cross season, with the first round taking part at Sleaford Rugby Club. Club champion Bart Kieres will again be the man to beat, but junior Tim James who placed 10th in the National Series last year will be after Bart’s crown.
