(Report by Mark Botteley)
A great turnout of 25 riders took part in the Bourne Wheelers first midweek race of the year on Wednesday.
The race, over a 5 mile course at Barholm, was the first of two warm-up events being held before the club TT League proper starts in a couple of weeks time.
Despite fairly chilly conditions some fast times were recorded with local pro rider Steve Lampier posting the fastest time covering the 5 miles course in 11:05. Second fastest was club champion Tom Comben with 11:33, with Peterborough CC rider James Gelsthorpe making up the top 3 with 11:39.
Fourth fastest and 2nd Wheeler to finish was Matt Green with 11:46, while Darren Kelly was the only other rider to beat 25mph avg with 11:59.
First women was Sian Botteley representing Velosure Starley Primal with 13:26, while 12 year old Mollie Peel, making her debut appearance in a time trial was 2nd with 16:02. First youth rider was Bryn Richards, again riding his first ever time trial, with 14:32.
