The mid-week TT League returned to Aslackby for Round 9 on warm, humid night that saw many of 15 riders posting personal course bests.
In the scratch race Tom Comben and James Gelsthorpe couldn’t be split, coming home in a dead heat as they both posted PBs of 22 mins 48 secs. Completing the podium once again was Matt Green in a personal best of 23mins 27 secs.
In the handicap Antony Gough‘s partial return to form was enough to secure the handicap win, followed by Keith Munton and Colin Gilbert.
Overall Tom stretched his lead in the scratch league to 41 points over Matt in second, with Antony a further 17 points back in third.
The handicap league is looking more exciting by the week with 38 points separating the top 10 riders and with several of them having ‘rides in hand’ the league is likely to get even closer over the next few weeks. Mark Williamson remains out in front on 126 points, though his lead has been cut to 12 points by Tom in 2nd with Richard Lomas-Brown just 4 points further back in 3rd.
