Bourne Wheelers TT League Race #1 (16th April – Greatford)

Wednesday evening saw the Wheelers hold their first evening 10 mile TT of the year on the Greatford course. Almost perfect conditions greeted the 24 competitors and it was Spalding based “Corley Cycles” pro Tom Neale that made the most of the conditions to break the 10 year old course record,  with a time of 22:39.
Fastest Bourne rider was Tom Comben with 24:42, who came out on top of a very tight finish with Bart Kieres and Matt Green recording 24:47 and 24:52 respectively.
Martin Rolbin won on handicap, closely followed by Mark Williamson and Joe Howells
Andy Barnard was fastest Vet with 25:21, beating new member Tony Gilbert by 37 secs with Cliff Hilless 3rd vet with 27:12.
Only 3 secs seperated first and second in the ladies competition with Louise Day 27:50, just getting the better of Maddie Gammons.  Another new rider Sara Mickleburgh came next with 31:55.
Finally in the youths,  Campbell Pollock again was fastest with 25:01, with Robbie Ward close behind in 2nd with 25:13
