So, was it a good, bad or indifferent night for TT racing??…no matter how one felt about the weather, the reality was that riders rode (15), wheels turned (30), tarmac was chewed up and spat out (16), PBs were broken (more than a few!) and a champion was crowned (1)!
The Be-Well TT League is fast approaching the climax of an exciting season of racing and Wednesday night’s race at Aslackby did not disappoint. On the night Jason Burrill and Jonny Palmer took the scratch and handicap races respectively with Andy Barnard 1st Vet on Standard.
Great rides all round saw a number of PBs with Tom Comben, Cliff Hilless, Mike Smalley and Jonny Palmer all breaking their best times for 10 miles. A special mention to guest rider Ben Head from Wilds Lodge who took a fantastic 4mins 08 seconds of his best time over 10 miles!!
Overall, Jason Burrill added to his 10m TT Club Title, by sealing his victory in the Be-Well TT League Scratch Competition – congratulations to Jason!
In the Handicap League Tom Comben remains out in front with a 21 point lead – Tom needs to finish 3rd or higher in one of the final two races to ensure victory overall.
In the Vets League things are reaching an exciting climax. Gerald Bone still leads by 6 points from Andy Barnard, but Andy with a ‘race in hand’ is in the drivers seat and needs to finish 6th or higher in one of the final two races to secure the Vets League title.
