GREAT RACING AT BARDNEY

Sunday saw the club holding their annual round of the Lincs Cyclo-Cross League at Abbey Farm, Bardney.

Having had to find a new venue with just 3 weeks to go to race day, Jimmy Armstrong from VC Lincoln, came to our rescue, and after a busy Saturday afternoon with Steve Collins, Tim, Sian, Jimmy and his son James. We got to race day with a course and facilities all sorted.

The weather nearly got the better of us as people struggled to get to the race venue and parts of the course had to be adapted to avoid standing water.

However thanks to a great team effort the racing went ahead, with 25 youths, 22 Under 12’s and 62 seniors, taking part.

Pick of the riders was Tim James who smashed the youth race finishing nearly 2 mins ahead of his nearest challenger. Backing Tim up were Adam 6th (2nd Under 14), Dan 8th, Aaron 9th and Maddie 10th (1st Girl) If a team prize were up for grabs, the youths would definitely of won.

In the senior race, Bart gave it everything and finished in a creditable 16th place. Phil reversed the tables on Steve finishing 2 places ahead in 40th place
