Scunthorpe Cross Report

A sizeable team rode at Quibell Park in the 3rd round of the Lincs Cyclo-Cross League.

First up were the under 16/14’s. Tim James had his best result this season, taking a fine 2nd place. Campbell Pollock placed 4th, with Aaron Bateman coming home in a personnel best 9th place. Dan Galpin took 11th with Adam Botteley 14th. Joe Collins showed a big improvement with 19th and Jamie Nation 21st.

Next up were the Under 12’s. Unfortunately Bourne only had one rider, Alex Gammons, who also had the misfortune of puncturing early on in the race. Despite this he soldiered on and finished 17th.

Finally it was the turn of the senior/juniors. Bourne fielded a team of 4, with Bart Kieres leading the team home in 18th place. Steve Collins, despite a heavy fall, came 42nd and Sian Botteley 51st (3rd lady). Mark Robinson unfortunately suffered a mechanical which resulted in him having to pull out of the race.
