A damp overcast evening greeted the 21 riders that took to the start line for the first round of The Be-Well Evening Time Trial League on Wednesday night at Greatford.
Confirming the form he showed event, from the previous weeks 5 mile warm-up event, James Gelsthorpe was a clear winner with 24:43 well over a minute clear of reigning league champion Keith Munton in 2nd place with 26:17 and Bart Kieres 3rd in 26:36.
First lady was Louise Day with 27:35, while the battle in the youth catergory again saw Campbell Pollock come out on top with 28:17, with Tim James again filling the runners up spot with 29:08 and Dan Burton next to finish with 32:18.

This weekend sees the club hosting its first road race for several years.
The action gets under way at 1pm on Saturday at RAF Barkston Heath near Grantham, where a full programme of racing will see the regions best bike riders battling it out over multiple laps of the 1.2km circuit. Races vary in length from 20mins for the under 8,10 and 12 catergories to an hour for the 2/3/4 the catergory seniors.
Bourne riders will be hoping for some top placings in their race, with James Gelsthorpe, Bart Kiers and Steve Collins in the supporting senior race for novice riders. However it will probably be in the youth races where the club has its best chance of taking the honours with Campbell Pollock, Tim James, Sian Botteley and Maddie Gammons all expected to place highly
