Darly Moor 10th March Report

Bourne’s youth road squad had a mixed start at Darly Moor, near Ashbourne, the venue of their first road race of the season. 14 year old Tim James was the pick of the trio that competed. Tim was never far from the front, always in the mix with the best riders from the region, eventually finishing in a very creditable 9th place.
Club youth road champion Sian Botteley was held up by a crash early on in the race, and despite closing the 10 second gap to get back to the main group, she slipped back later on in the race, but still managed to place 4th under 16 girl out of 12.
Campbell Pollock had a disappointing start to the season, as a mechanical issue compromised his performance. Despite this he managed to complete the race.
